Troy Poeschl grew up in the city of Orange in Southern California. Studying many types of media, Troy graduated in 1989 from California State University in Long Beach with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts and a Minor in Industrial Arts. He has worked as a designer and fabricator on coffee roasters for Dietrich’s Coffee and motor racing components before becoming a full-time artist.
For the past fifteen years Troy has exhibited at the Festival of Arts and for seventeen years at the Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach. Some notable places his work has been on exhibit are Yosemite National Park – Yosemite Renaissance, Natural History Museum in Balboa Park, San Diego and the Irvine Fine Art Center’s Annual Juried Exhibition as well as a public sculpture commissioned by Community Art Project and Wells Fargo Bank on Ocean Avenue in downtown Laguna Beach.
